The domain name and title of this blog indicate the purpose of this blog. Most people, I think it is safe to say, associate being pro-life with aligning with Conservatism and the Republican Party. For that Party's official Platform includes a pro-life vision. People, generally speaking, do not associate being pro-life with being a Democrat or supporting that Party. In fact, the Party is often called the b:"Party of abortion." Recently, the official Democratic platform has moved farther Left on abortion, calling for late-term, third trimester abortion up to the day and time of birth. Most recently, they have included the repeal of the ban on taxpayer funding of abortion (the Hyde Amendment) in their 2020 Platform. That is, Democrats are calling for taxpayer funding to for abortion. Despite this "abortion extremism," I stand for the the Party's platform on multiple social justice issues outside of what they call reproductive choice or reproductive freedom. My mission is to affirm my Christian faith and push back on the Democratic Platform even as I intend to back them up on social justice issues. These include alleviating poverty and racism, equal treatment for women, LGBTQ people, immigrants, and people with disabilities. Social issues include addressing climate change and fair treatment and living wages for low and middle income workers. Social justice issues include immigration policies that offer humane policies for undocumented people, migrants, and asylum seekers. These policies include criminal justice reform and more.
Those on the "right" lean towards sanctity of life issues like ending abortion & euthanasia. Those on the "left" lean towards social justice & ending poverty, racism & marginalizing immigrants, those with disabilities, undocumented persons, asylum seekers & others. Consistently pro-life means to be pro-life for all!
